A method of finding the proximal esophagus when atresia in newborns during surgery by administering to the newborn through the mouth of a hollow tube with a closed, atraumatic distal end, followed by advance it to the proximal esophagus, characterized in that the newborn catheter and before introduction of the catheter into it is inserted to the stop light cables with face luminescence and is connected to an endoscopic light source, and used transparent catheter sizes CH 8-10.
