A. AVRAMENKO'S TECHNIQUE FOR ASSESSING VOLUME OF GASTRIC CAVITY IN PATIENTS WITH MANIFESTATIONS OF CHRONIC HELICOBACTERIOSIS - CHRONIC GASTRITIS TYPE B AND ULCER

A technique for assessing the volume of the gastric cavity provides for filling the stomach with the air. The manipulations are performed such as follows: prior to the termination of esophagogastroduodenoscopy, the gas mixture from the gastric cavity is completely removed by suction through the operating canal of the endocope under the visual control. Then the time required for filling the stomach with the air through air-fluid canal is recorded. The moment of the overfilling sensation in the stomach is assessed by the patient who raises the hand for informing the doctor. Then air is again evacuated. Finally, the volume of the gastric cavity is calculated.
