The invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for regenerating of lasting quality of working coating of composite rolls. A method comprises the electro-slag melting on the roll of layer of alloyed steels, mainly of ledeburitic type. Hardening of the layer is carried out to the production of grain size of initial -ferrite of 50-200 m by cooling in the range of 1460-1340 °C with a speed of 15-20 °C/min. but pyrrhite transformation is carried out by cooling of pad weld in the range of 1340-1280 °C with the speed of 100-150 °C/min. A method provides the high level of structure dispersion and improvement of strength and wear indexes of the finished forming rolls.
