Method and device of vibration measurement by optical interferometry. The present invention is related to a device and a method of measuring vibrations by optical interferometry. The system employs an interferometric fiber optic sensor, which arranged in contact with the surface object of measurement, provides a signal proportional to the vibrations of that element. The invention has its preferred application in transformers for measuring core vibrations or windings. Thanks to the use of a sensor head and a corresponding signal processing, the vibration measurement is obtained directly, with the restrictive characteristics of the preferred application: for hostile environment, weak magnitudes in the presence of influences and high resolution ( 1 nm equivalent), among others.
