Procedure for obtaining vWF or high purity factor VIII / vWF complex by immunoaffinity chromatography, in which a vWF or an FVIII / vWF complex linked to an immunoadsorbent is eluted with an eluent containing as an essential active component an amphoteric ion, preserving the molecular integrity of the vWF or of the factor VIII / vWF complex, characterized in that the amphoteric ion is an amino acid or an amino acid analogue with an isoelectric point between 3, 2 and 9, 6 and because the vWF or the factor VIII / vWF complex linked to the immunoadsorbent dissociates without the use of chaotropic agents.
