The use is claimed of aminoacetones or salts thereof of the general formulae (I) and (II) in which R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen, C1-C22-alkyl, C2-C22-alkenyl, phenyl or C5-C8-cycloalkyl, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom form a 5-, 6- or 7-membered ring system, X- is an anion, for example chloride, bromide, iodide, toluenesulfonate, benzenesulfonate, cumenesulfonate, mesitylsulfonate, sulfate, hydrogensulfate, acetate, fatty acid anion or anion of polycarboxylates, as a bleaching booster for inorganic peroxygen compounds in the pH range from 7 to 9.
