The invention relates to power engineering. The inventive method for operating a power generating cycle consists in modifying the thermodynamic condition of a working medium in a circuit by means of the osmotic pressure difference at different temperatures. Said method is carried out when a solvant flows between solutions which are separated by means of semipermeable membranes (1-8, 4-9) and when a hydraulic turbine (6) generates power. A heat recovery process carried out by means of heat exchangers (3) is used in the method. The invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of a heat conversion process.
