Method for single sign-on in terms of peer-to-peer applications

The method involves performing login and authentication by a sign-on and authentication function (AUT) with a provider, by users (N). An authentication information (AI) e.g. password, is generated with a successful authentication of the users and is transferred to the user. The information is sent along from the user during access effort on peer-to-peer networks (P1, P2), where an agreement stays with the provider for the network for authentication of the users. The authentication information for the network is verified, and an access to the network is enabled.
