DEVICE FOR CALCULATING ACTUAL SIZE OF THE OBJECT IN THE IMAGE CAPTURED FROM SINGLE CAMERA AND THE METHOD THEREOF

A method and an apparatus for measuring the actual size of image by using a single camera are provided to measure the actual size of images which have a different number of pixels due to a distance from the camera irrespective of the same object by using the single camera and use information about the size. A camera unit(100) is installed at a predetermined angle for a bottom side and in a vertical direction, captures and outputs an image within a monitoring zone. A memory(110) stores information including an angle for the bottom side and a vertical side of the camera unit and a height from the bottom side, and stores the previous frame of the image. A control unit(120) extracts an object included in the image output of the camera unit by referring to the memory, calculates size by each pixel of the extracted object, adds the sizes by each pixel of the extracted object, and outputs the actual size of the object.
