An apparatus and a method of pulling a crystal are provided not to allow the movement of latches from a stop position to a work position to affect the crystal by simplifying the release of the latches. An apparatus of pulling a crystal includes latches(7), a base unit(1), and stoppers. The latches are installed on the base unit, and rotates around a rotation axis(8). The base unit has the stoppers which determine the stop position and work position of the latches. The stoppers control the center of the latch to be placed at the opposite side of the rotation axis in the stop position of the latch, and at the rotation axis side in the work position.
