ORGANIC/INORGANIC COMPOSITE ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE USING METAL(III) CHROMIUM PHOSPHATE COMPLEX AND FUEL CELL COMPRISING THE SAME

An organic/inorganic composite electrolyte membrane is provided to have excellent chemical resistance and heat stability while exhibiting high proton conductivity in the high temperature range and in a low humidity condition. An organic/inorganic composite electrolyte membrane includes: a polymer having a sulfonic acid group(-SO3H); and a metal(III)-chromium-phosphate complex represented by the formula of M(III)xCr(HPO4)y(H2PO4)z, wherein M is a trivalent group IIIA and/or group IIIB metal, x=3n(wherein, n=1 or 2), y=3n'(wherein, n'=0, 1, or 2), and z=3n"(wherein, n"=0, 1, or 2), with the proviso that at least one of n' and n" is not 0. The metal(III)-chromium-phosphate complex is dispersed in the polymer matrix.
