A waterproof construction method for the rooftop of a building is provided to prevent the partial expansion of a waterproof layer and to improve durability by arranging many air vent grooves on the bottom of the rooftop horizontally and vertically and installing an air exhaust pipe in the corner, thereby discharging vapor pressure effectively. A waterproof construction method for the rooftop of a building comprises the steps of forming air vent grooves(10) on the bottom(2) of the rooftop of a building to intersect each other horizontally and vertically(S10), covering the opened top of the air vent groove with a cover member(20)(S20), arranging and installing one or more air exhaust pipes(30) to be connected to the air vent grooves in the corners of the rooftop of the building(S30), and forming a waterproof layer(40) to cover the bottom of the rooftop of the building and the cover member(S40).
