A method for preparing a Li(NiCoMn)O2-based active cathode material for lithium secondary battery is provided to reduce heat treatment process and processing time, to save manufacturing costs and to obtain a cathode active material having a uniform composition ratio in the product powder. A method for preparing a Li(NiCoMn)O2-based active cathode material for lithium secondary battery comprises a step for weighting Li2CO3, MnCO3, NiO and Co3O4 as a starting material of the cathode active material for the lithium secondary battery in a stoichiometric ratio; a step for mixing an NaCl grinding aid with the weighed starting material and pulverizing the mixture to the powder; a step for heat-treating the pulverized powder; and a step for removing the NaCl grinding aid from the heat-treated powder.
