CONVERSION METHOD OF TALC COMPONENTS FOR MINERAL CARBONATION AND MINERAL CARBONATION METHOD USING THE SAME

A method for converting talc for mineral carbonation is provided to obtain a mineral carbonation material of carbon dioxide with excellent reactivity, and to realize homogenization of talc. A method for converting talc for mineral carbonation comprises the steps of: (1) crushing talc; (2) heating the crushed talc powder to a temperature of 900 deg.C or higher; and (3) naturally cooling the heated talc powder to room temperature. In the method, step (2) is carried out by supplying oxygen in an enclosed space. The talc obtained by the method is allowed to react with carbon dioxide to form magnesium carbonate.
