A display system and a display method for a collaboration environment are provided to divide media data into sliced media data, transmit the sliced media data to a display cluster, and display the received sliced media data on each display device, thereby displaying the media data into plural images and operating the plural display devices like a display device with ultra-high resolution. A display system(100) includes a display cluster(400) and a system management unit. The display cluster has plural display devices which are connected to a network respectively. The system management unit decodes and divides provided media data, controls the display sync of the divided media data according to one of unicast and multicast modes, divides the media data into sliced media data with a predetermined size when the transmission mode is the multicast mode, applies different multicast addressed to each of the divided sliced media data, and transmits the each of the divided sliced media data to the display cluster.
