The device (2) has an examining area (4) limited by an inner wall (6), where a patient (10) is positionable in the examining area. A display (12) is arranged in a partial area of the inner wall and consists of an electrochromic material. The entire inner wall that is visible by a patient is covered by a display. A control unit is provided for controlling the display for displaying of image and/or examining relevant information. The control unit is connectable with a control console for adjusting the information. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a medical diagnosis device or therapy device, in particular a computer tomography device or a magnetic resonance device.
