The method involves detaching a locking unit from a door module support that is fixed to a door structure (T) in a functional position. A door module support (1) is fixed to a door structure at an end position, so that the support partially overlaps a section of a door inner skin. The support in an assembling position is displaced along a direction parallel to a door plane opposite to the end position such that distance of the locking unit from a fixed position of a flexible connector (22) to the support is less than or equal to distance of the support in the end position. An independent claim is also included for a door structure of a motor vehicle door.
