The wall is straight, rounded, angled or multi-angular. It runs at an angle over the hole forming a through-passage. It can be varied in thickness and/or rotated. It may be faceted. It is intended to deflect gas molecules away from the hole. All membrane parts on the side with the guide wall are formed and orientated such that incident molecules either in the direction of the wall or hole are deflected. In addition to manipulation of the angle, side rotation or inclination and faceting of the surface is possible. The wall considerably reduces the numbers of gas molecules passing through the membrane from the side equipped with it. A similar type of guide wall is formed by a cover over the hole. The cover is fastened with clearance from the membrane, its size being a function of the clearance. The cover can have any form. The cover and its surfaces may have any of the configurations described earlier, in connection with the wall. A further variant of the arrangement, operating on the foregoing principles, is disclosed. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method.
