The damper (1) has a damper body pivotable around an axis of rotation, and a damper mass (7) adapted to an excitation frequency, where the damper mass is movably accommodated in a recess of the damper body. A shell (6) is arranged in the recess, where the shell is formed in a path for the damper mass. The shell is pressed into the recess. The damper mass is formed as a roller body, and the damper body is designed as a belt pulley or chain pulley (2). The damper body is sintered or manufactured from aluminum-die casting or plastic or from non-cutting steel.
