The vibration damper (1) has a damper body (4) swivelable around an axis of rotation, and a mass damper (9) that is arranged in a recess (5) of the damper body and coordinated to an excitation frequency. The mass damper is movable in a level regarding to the damper body, and changes its radial distance from the axis of rotation during its movement. The mass damper is guided into the recess of the damper body by a bearing. The bearing is designed as an antifriction bearing, preferably as a needle bearing. The body is arranged adjacent to a bearing surface (2) of a strap.
