The mechanism has permanent electromagnets (261) for producing a magnetic force. A bracket (262) is rotated in a position for activating a circuit-breaker by the magnetic force if a strong current exceeds a normal current. A selecting unit (266) has a cam surface (266a) for adjusting a gap between the bracket and electromagnets. An adjusting rod (264) has an end (265a) in contact with the cam surface and another end (265b) in contact with the bracket. The rod is rotatable to adjust the gap by pushing the bracket based on a position in which the rod is in contact with the cam surface.
