The method involves determining one of the network nodes (P1 to P18) as central network node. The all network nodes are noted and serve the number of network nodes in the data network for estimation. The interval lengths are determined in the network node. The interval lengths of a respective network node are determined by the help of partial values. The determined interval lengths and the average value of the determined interval lengths are transferred at the central network node by a respective network node. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a decentralized data network has number of network node (2) a network computer for use in a decentralized data network.
