The network has network elements (1), in which a part of the elements is equipped with transmission timer and/or receiving timer, where transmission/receiving times of the network are coordinated with each other for detecting and/or transmitting data for the part of the elements. The elements comprise input/output (I/O) ports, current supply, controller, transceiver, transmitting and receiving amplifier and antenna. The element is equipped with an LED. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for construction of sensor/actuator networks (2) a computer program to implement a method for construction of sensor/actuator network (3) a computer readable medium, on which a program is stored to implement a method for construction of sensor/actuator network (4) a method with which a computer program is downloaded from an electronic data network e.g. Internet, to a data processing device attached on the data network.
