The contact i.e. carbon brush (10), has two layers (12, 16) e.g. sliding surface-sided running layer and sliding surface lying layer, with limiting surfaces turned towards each other and run along a sliding surface (14). The running layer consists of a carbon material such as carbon graphite, and the sliding surface lying layer consists of a positive temperature coefficient resistor material with non-linear resistance process. The lying layer is formed on a ceramic base material and on a polymer base, and consists of barium titanate and a mixture of barium carbonate and titanium oxide.
