A system for semi automatic pruning of pot plants has two work stations side by side and with an alternating operation. The access to the work stations is via a door system with provides access to one position when the cutters are in a safe setting while the other door opening is secured while its cutters operate. The safety interlocks are monitored by sensors. The system is portable and to safety compartments are open to the bottom to allow cuttings to fall down.
