The light diffusion film material (1) is composed of a thermoplastic polymer matrix (5) with particles (15) within hollow zones (10) embedded in the matrix. The particles are smaller than the hollow zones, leaving a space (20) between the particles and the inner walls (10A) of the hollow zones filled with air and/or an inert gas. The particles are hollow, filled with alkane.
