A ventilating method involves supplying drawn-in external air to a technical air device, from which or from an additional similar device, waste air is blown out at the front of the building. In a first operating procedure for ejecting a warm-air boundary layer (8) accumulated at the front (2) of a building, the warm air (7) of the boundary layer does not reach or only just reaches into the suction zone (17), and the waste air (16) is blown out beneath the suction zone (17) as sealing air. An independent claim is given for a device for drawing in external air at a building front.
