Internal combustion engine crank shaft rotation angle determining method for use by sensor i.e. differential sensor, involves incrementing half increment with sign of rotational direction before rotary direction reversal
The method involves coding an allocation of rotary directional reversal point to a tooth (3) of indicating wheels (1) or a tooth space (4) of the wheels. Rotational angle is determined by addition of increments with each signal flanks to a counter, and the tooth is directed uniquely on a sensor (6) after rotary direction reversal. A half increment is incremented with a sign of rotational direction after the reversal. A tooth space is directed uniquely on the sensor during the reversal, and the half increment is incremented with the sign of rotational direction before the reversal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for coding output signals of a sensor of a device for determining a rotational angle of a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine (2) a sensor for a device for determining a rotational angle of a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine (3) a computer program with a program code for performing a method for incrementally determining rotation angle of crank shaft of an internal combustion engine.
