The method involves supplying electric power to solid body actuator (13) by charging pulses and power is discharged to actuator by discharging pulses. The desired activating duration is pre-determined, which extends from generation of charging pulse to generation of discharging pulse for fluid measuring. A corrected activating duration is determined depending upon desired activating duration, in such a manner that change in volatility of the measuring fluid is compensated.
