The holder (MBH) has a matrix band holder-main body with a pair of ends that are at a distance from each other, which runs roughly in outlines of the matrix band holder-main body between the distant ends in an arc-shaped manner and the ends of the matrix band holder-main body are fastened to a partial matrix band. An extension instrument intervenes in the position of the matrix band holder-main body, to stretch the matrix band. A pair of extensions is provided with a proximal end and a distal end, and a body lies between the proximal end and the distal end. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a matrix-approximal-adaptor with a matrix-approximal-adaptor-main body (2) an apparatus with a matrix band holder (3) a contact point molder in the form of a forceps-shaped instrument (4) a strand forceps exhibiting three branches (5) a matrix retainer with a matrix retainer-main body.
