The actuator (4) has ball ramp mechanisms (34, 36) rotatable with rotary speed of an input shaft of a clutch (2) and switchable for actuation of the clutch from a position into another position. Switching devices (58, 60) switch the ball ramp mechanisms, and a supporting device (76) is provided with an abrading part (78), which is driveable by a component e.g. rotatable component of pump, rotatable as the mechanisms with reduced or increased rotary speed. The abrading part is adjacent to the mechanisms in a mode supporting switching from the former position into the latter position.
