The method involves coupling drive sides (21,23,25,27) of a drive train (12) with electrical machines (28,30,32,34). A drive (38) of the drive train is coupled with another electrical machine (36). A driving torque is produced at the drive and is so controlled that it corresponds to a target value, where target value is generated by a model that stimulate a torque effecting in drive train. An independent claim is also included for a test stand for testing a drive train of a motor vehicle.
