The latch chain comprises multiple chains (2,2') and always forms chain link (A,B), which are connected with a joint having an adjacent chain link. The latch chain has damping latches (6), which connects two adjacent chain links elastically with each other with respect to a buckling movement. The damping latches absorb the damping of the latch chain in a direction. The damping is caused by a flexible deformation of the damping latches. An independent claim is also included for the damping latches.
