The invention relates to a method for the transmission of bus 1EEE 1394 reinitialization messages and of associated topology information via a transparent bridge, a bridge head connected to a 1394 bus and to a network providing said transparent bridge, characterized in that said bridge head selections intermediary reinitialization messages during a series of reinitialization messages, transmitting said intermediary realization messages to the other buses which it is connected to. The inventive method is adapted more particularly to a case wherein an intelligent method is used for the recognition phase of the network after reconstruction of the topology during reinitialization.
