This recording-medium conveying device (8) comprises a conveying belt (14), the conveying belt (14), a belt charging unit (19), and a pressing roller (15). The conveying belt (14) is wound around a driving roller (12) and a driven roller (13) so as to convey a recording medium (17) to an image recording part (7). The conveying belt (14) includes an insulating layer (20) formed at one side contacting the recording medium (17). The belt charging unit (19) is provided in contact with the insulating layer (20) so as to charge the insulating layer (20) with a positive charge and a negative charge alternately in a moving direction of the conveying belt (14) by applying an AC bias to the conveying belt (14). The pressing roller (15) presses the conveying belt (14) against the driving roller (12) so as to prevent the conveying belt (14) from slipping on the driving roller (12). IMAGE
