Treating natural gas containing methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide by contacting with metallic oxide material, separating water-rich and hydrogen-rich flows and contacting carbon dioxide rich flow with hydrogen rich flow
Process for treating a natural gas containing methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, comprises contacting a flow rich in hydrogen sulfide with a material comprising a metallic oxide to produce a metallic sulfide and an effluent comprising water and hydrogen by chemical reaction, separating the effluent into a water-rich and hydrogen-rich flows and contacting the flow rich in carbon dioxide with flow rich in hydrogen to produce a mixture of methane and water by hydrogenation reaction. Process for treating a natural gas, containing methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, from which hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide are withdrawn to obtain a natural gas depleted of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide and a flow rich in hydrogen sulfide and a flow rich in carbon dioxide, comprises contacting the flow rich in hydrogen sulfide with a material comprising a metallic oxide in which the metal is elements of VIIB and VIIIB groups of Mendeleev's periodic table, to form a metallic sulfide and an effluent comprising water and hydrogen by a chemical reaction, separating the effluent into a flow rich in water and a flow rich in hydrogen and contacting the flow rich in carbon dioxide with the flow rich in hydrogen to produce a mixture of methane and water by hydrogenation reaction.
