The method and the devices according to the invention aim at optimizing the transmission of data packets, transmitted by several sources, in a network, in the presence of disturbances. After receiving a data packet (500) and determining its source, this data packet is analyzed to determine if data packets transmitted by that source have been lost (505). If data packets have been lost, the source-related transmission error type is determined (530) and the transmission parameters are changed according to the determined error type (560). The parameters for determining the type of errors are related to the comparison of the overall data packet loss rate linked to this source with the overall data packet loss rates associated with all the sources (510, 515, 520 ).
