The interface has a keyboard e.g. virtual keyboard, including keys, and a screen e.g. tactile screen, where each key (T) of the keyboard includes a command, numeric characters, variable number of alphabetic characters or symbols relative to an input. Each key receives two colors (C0, C1) or provides two different aspects e.g. different textures, by backlighting. The key whose command is active on the current screen receives the color (C1) or the aspect on the command of a control unit of a host terminal. Each key whose command is inactive receives the color (C0) or another aspect. An independent claim is also included for a method for selecting a special character on a keyboard.
