The method involves receiving successive digital audio data (S-D) representing a digitized audio sequence. Actuation of a switch (26) of an audio sequence recording system (5) by an operator during reception of the data is detected, and a time window is fixed based on the detection. Data representing an occurring instant of a synchronization mark during the time window is determined from the former data received during the time window. An independent claim is also included for a system for detecting a synchronization mark of a digitized audio sequence.
