The method involves detecting a driving situation of a vehicle operation e.g. parking, by detecting whether a longitudinal speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined threshold speed by a detecting unit (18). A Jeantaud angulation is applied to the steering wheels to reduce a radius of curvature of a trajectory of the vehicle in operation, by placing a pair of steering wheels in a parallel manner. The detecting unit is connected to an inlet section of a controller by an inlet (E18). An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a steering wheel of a vehicle.
