The system (1) has determination elements (3) for determining torque of a wheel (2) relative to suspension, and a detecting module (4) for detecting an unbalance of the wheel with respect to pseudo-sinusoidal type signals transmitted by the determination elements. An alerting unit (8) is constituted of sonorous or vocal alarm for alerting a driver by the presence of the unbalance, and a filtering module (5) for filtering the signals transmitted by the determination elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting resultant unbalance of a wheel.
