Carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane and nitrogen mixture separating method, involves separating mixture at cold temperature by overhead condensation of carbon monoxide/methane separating column and boiling of discharge and separating columns
The method involves separating carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane and nitrogen mixture in a methane scrub column (C1) and sending a part of liquid fraction from a tank of the column to a discharge column (C2). The part is sent to a carbon monoxide/methane separating column (C3) for producing a liquid flow rich in methane and a gaseous flow rich in carbon monoxide. The mixture is separated at cold temperature partially through a carbon monoxide cycle. The cycle partially ensures overhead condensation of the column (C3) and/or boiling of the columns (C2, C3). An independent claim is also included for an installation for separating a mixture having carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methane.
