The method involves determining the variation of the different parameters e.g. ambient temperature and luminous intensity, in the time, where the energy is produced by a thermal, photovoltaic or solar converter (4). A look up table (TC) is established between a meteorological data and quantity of the energy produced by the converter. The table is applied on the time period that is greater than the reference period, to obtain the estimation of the annual production of the converter and solar energy generation plant by extrapolation. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the method for determining the aptitude of the site.
