The strip has a body (1) mounted on a rim of a peripheral edge of an opening e.g. door, of a bodywork of a vehicle. The body has a core material (3) having a U-shaped transversal section. The material (3) is made of a hard synthetic resin and a covering layer (8) having a sealing hollow part (2) that is provided on exterior of the material. A sealing tampon forming part (4) has the material (3) in a part of an inner surface, where the parts (2, 4) are made of thermoplastic elastomer. The part (4) has projections (5) on its surface, where projections contact with the rim.
