The hinge (1) has fixed and mobile knuckles (2, 3) respectively mounted on a body shell (5) and a rear swinging door (6) of a commercial vehicle. An intermediate knuckle (4) is articulated with the fixed and mobile knuckles by respective rotational axles (9, 10). A rotation stopping or braking unit is associated with the axles, and is constituted of elastic tabs (11A, 11B, 13) co-operating with stop pins (12, 14). The unit creates differentiated resisting torques (C2, C3) to control movements of the hinge and indexation of the door in intermediate open position i.e. at 90 degree.
