PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retracting elastic plate seal particularly used in a turbomachine.;SOLUTION: A seal device for sealing a space between a rotary element 2 and a fixed element 4, is composed of: an elastic plate seal housing 6 adjustably supported in the fixed element 4 and supporting the elastic plate seal 8; and a spring device 10 arranged between the elastic plate seal housing 6 and the fixed element 4, and energizing the elastic plate seal housing 6 in the direction for separating from a surface of the rotary element 2. Alternatively or additionally, one or more of actuators 30 may be provided to move the elastic plate seal housing 6 in the direction for separating from the surface of the rotating element 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
