PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method important for recovering performance of an electrolyte cell in a method for efficiently preparing a cooking liquor containing high concentration of polysulfide sulfur from a white liquor through an electrolysis method with low electric power in a pulp manufacturing process.;SOLUTION: In the electrolyte cell 1 comprising an anode compartment 3 provided with porous anodes 2, a cathode compartment 5 and a membrane 6 providing a partition between the anode compartment 3 and the cathode compartment 5, a solution containing sulfide ions is introduced into the anode compartment 2, and an aqueous solution containing caustic soda is introduced into the cathode compartment 5, thereby producing a polysulfide containing polysulfide sulfur through electrolytic oxidation. The anode compartment 3 is cleaned with an aqueous solution containing at least one of an inorganic acid, a chelating agent and a scale-cleaning agent, thereby recovering performance of the electrolyte cell 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
