HARPOON TIP FOR WHALING USING IMPULSE WAVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harpoon tip for whaling using impulse waves capable of more simplifying a manufacturing process, surely performing the propagation of detonation to a denoting fuse on hitting a whale body, and on the other hand, preventing the propagation of detonation to the denoting fuse at missing to be safely recovered by a worker.;SOLUTION: This harpoon tip for whaling using impulse waves is formed by installing one end of the denoting fuse 4 in an inlet pipe 5 formed of water soluble paper, and subsequently wrapping the pipe round a fixture 3 formed of water soluble paper without a void at the tip. Since the bottom of a fuse 7 and the tip of the opposite denoting fuse 4 come into contact with each other in the harpoon tip at hitting a whale, when the fuse 7 is exploded, detonation surely propagates to the denoting fuse 4. In the case of missing, the wrapper 3 and the inlet pipe 5 are dissolved to release the denoting fuse 4 from being fixed, so that the tip of the denoting fuse 4 and the bottom of a detonator 7 are separated from each other to prevent the propagation of detonation to the denoting fuse 4 even in the case of the unexpected discharge of the detonator 7 and safely recover the harpoon tip.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
