PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively achieve cooperative processing between a telephone function and an application function on a PC at any time according to the practical use condition of a user without requiring any complicated operation by the user. PSOLUTION: A communication system has: a plurality of information terminals executing one or a plurality of pieces of application processing between opposing information terminals; a plurality of cooperative terminals that the user of each terminal uses simultaneously with the information terminal, when executing each application processing between the information terminals; a communication state detection means for controlling the connection processing between the cooperative terminals to detect a change in a communication state of each cooperative terminal based on the first communication connection situation between the cooperative terminals; and a cooperative control means for starting second communication connection between respective information terminals with which each cooperative terminal is in cooperation, when a change in the communication state of each cooperative terminal is detected by the communication state detection means.
