PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-casting chum basket for surely achieving the role of a chum basket in fishing, and enabling light and smooth reeling after casting and simple and quick filling of chum.;SOLUTION: A cylindrical net basket 5 for holding chum is attached to a float 3, a bottom lid 8 is connected to the bottom of the basket with a spring 7 acting also as a hinge, and the opening and closure of the bottom lid is performed by using the suspending line tension and spring force. The suspending line 4 is passed from the tip end of the float through the net basket 5 and the through-hole 2 of the float and tied to a swivel 1. In the case of casting, the bottom lid is closed by the weight of the chum and the chum basket by erecting the fishing rod. When the chum is charged to the basket and the basket is cast, the basket flies while keeping the closed state of the bottom lid. Thereafter, when the flying by inertia is started, the bottom lid is opened at an angle of about 60° by the force of the spring, however, there is no scattering of chum at the time. The basket is landed on water while opening the bottom lid to release the chum. The empty basket is lightly reeled in without sinking the basket into water because the basket is pulled up by keeping the float at the top.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
